It is an event for families and neighbors to come together and join the environmental justice movement by being part of co-creating a new story. In collaboration with many other environmental justice organizations across the Twin Cities, PowerFest will bring the community together for a day of fun and relationship building.

HOW DOES #POWERFEST FIT INTO THE ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE MOVEMENT?
PowerFest is weaving a new story through art, movement, and the sharing of wisdom and opportunities so that we may heal, play, and be in better relation to one another. By building a community of support in the Northside around a clean energy transition, we are building a base of support for a resilient future. Resilient in the sense that PowerFest helps to build relationships in tandem with connecting Northsiders to the North High Community Solar Project. This then brings renewable energy that can sustain Northside well into the future that benefits the community by keeping the air clean, creating jobs, and allowing the Northside to control its own power. It is events like PowerFest that are the heartbeat of the environmental justice movement.
